D1 Mission

One of the Highlights was the work Optus put into producing  a banner for the Fairing of the Ariane 5 Launch Vehicle.

It was called 'Face in Space'.

Optus sent a photographer around to take a Photo of all the Satellite Staff.

To get photos of all our Shift guys who missed the Photo Shoot, I setup a Blue Backdrop (A blue bedsheet from home) and caught all the guys at 7am Shift Changes to take their photos.

On the Top Row, the first 11 Faces are Satellite Controllers. First into Space (and perhaps the  first to hit the Atlantic Ocean)  :)

On Launch the fairing was jettisoned just above 100 kms  , so the Faces made it into Space. The same Faces then felll 100kms into the Atlantic Ocean.
